I’m a Bujinkan member that doesn’t live near any dojo anymore. I was looking for an online course that teaches Bujinkan. Mark Roemke’s course is extremely well done and has everything you would need for beginners or experienced people. I also love that I can watch it on my phone, now I have training anytime, and anywhere!

I have trained in the Bujinkan for years and was looking for a knowledgeable teacher to take over my training. I have always loved Sensei Roemke’s videos on YouTube and found him very knowledgeable. I’m happy to be his student and you will be too!

The content is very good. Well presented, great camera work, plenty of detail. I’ve tried a few online courses as there’s nobody in my area I can train with. This one is by far the best ninjutsu course available.

Hi my name is Glenn and I am from the Philippines and in where I’m from there are no bujinkan dojos nearby so I searched if there are any online dojos , and finally I found one, and when I purchased my first course which is 9th kyu I loved it , the way how the sensei teaches is very informative and encouraging, it feels like as if I am learning in the actual dojo with him, the video has a very good quality, the content is very good, so this are all my thoughts and experiences on one of his courses, and this is all what I have to say !

I have to admit- I wasn’t sure about where this journey would have led me. Starting something new online felt insecure as I have always trained in a gym. I live in Iowa with no dojo in my state. Not only was I pleasantly supervised by how much content was in this Kyu level but can’t say enough good things about the quality of instruction. This is worth your time and effort and will begin to unveil the bases of this art.

After completing my 9th Kyu I graduated to 8th Kyu. This was another through and in-depth lesson that covered. Mr. Roemke offers creative instruction on further developing the basics. A lot of great information in this lesson.

You can’t have a proper study of ninja without swords! 7th Kyu covers the introduction to the katana- from drawing to cutting- great stuff. This lesson continues to broaden your hand to hand taihenjitsu and interesting escapes and joint locks. I havent purchased the additional training videos on the katana yet – but if you liked the 7th Kyu it looks like the right direction to go.

I have been working my way through the kyu levels and with each step I find myself consistently going back to the previous lessons to help add to my understand of what I am on now. This lesson adds in some more advanced ukemi- I really like how creative it was. Definitely got me thinking and experimenting. I had a TKD background and found the kicking section refreshing as well although this art doesnt focus heavily on only kicking its a great plus up and complement to the art.
One thing I am honestly surprised about studying in these videos has been the amount of attention spent on throws, and the 6th Kyu is no expection. It begins to create a foundation that has been built upon moving forward. This is one of those spots I have come back to again and again to learn more.

This lesson felt the shortest of the lessons I have learned. That said it was probably the most real world applicable. I felt like the throws worked the best for me- I have even used them in jiu jitsu tournaments and judo sparring at local gyms. Simply put they work with fully resisting opponents. As for the weapon section you will study the tanto – or knife. For me it was pretty eye opening as I grew up in rural America and it seemed every one of my friends had a knife on them. You probably know the kind of kids I am talking about. We didn’t really view them as weapons more as tools for life, from cutting bailing cord to a fishing line to whittling a wood. This section of the lesson transformed a common tool to something for self defense. That was surprisingly very ninja-like to take a simple common tool and make martial use of it.

The 4th Kyu for me focused a lot on furthering my understanding and situational awareness. It challenged me to consider differing viewpoints and to make the most of that for my advantage. A big part of this was the continued lessons on the throws and also the weapon of study. the Kusari Fundo . Its a chain with weights on the end. Nothing helps you stay focused like controlling a flexible (and potentially dangerous) weapon creatively without hitting yourself. I hadn’t ever really used anything like it, and I would have never thought of it in the way that it was taught in the lesson. This lesson broadened my awareness in that sense and also in other ways as well. Furthering my applications of the Kihon Happo, my general awareness of very day life with the multiple attackers section.

Much like the katana in the 7th kyu you cant really enjoy studying this martial art without enjoying throwing weapons – completely AWESOME! You will learn the basics of Bo shuriken, sanban shuriken ninja stars, and kunai! as a side note I bought the Shuriken Basics video separately some time before I tested for this level. It was pretty awesome. Of course there is a lot more in this lesson but this was my favorite part. The other parts of the lesson includes more throws and some beginning level choking submissions. From my experience with other martial arts these are some different approaches to similar techniques that can turn something from a low percentage techniques to a high percentage technique. The more you know the better off you are.

Comparing it to an non virtual Dojo, this is an suprising good option if you didnt got the time or combining it with differend Combat System. Also I think, that the Bujinkan falling school is a very good and unique one. It trains your moving intelligence, the body feeling and your general mobility. The whole basics are a good tool to improve yourself in differend ways.

I purchased some learning curriculum a few months ago and wanted to evaluate it for a while before giving a review. I have wanted to try out long digital learning especially since there isn’t a bujinkan Dj locally. Most sites want a monthly membership, but only this one offers individual courses and they are very affordable. It includes a download and a website version. It allows me to practice on a chaotic schedule which is a plus! Sensei Mark explains and shows the techniqueS with a very easy to understand and follow type of demeanor which really helps. I have had a few questions and he has responded promptly. Having a martial arts background does help since training solo is the only drawback I have found so far (so find a partner) I consider it an investment worth purchasing when you can view the material as much as you want. I’ll continue to use these videos for continued study and refreshers

While I am a strong proponent of learning martial arts in person from a qualified instructor with members of a Dojo this material offers a brilliant external reference. It is well structured, progresses fluidly and the necessary details explained at a level that accessible to most people.

This material is excellent to prepare someone to learn face to face, to get an understanding of what studying the style will entail and acts as a transition if you are currently unable to attend a Dojo in person for whatever reason.

It also acts to reinforce what students learn in person in class and acts a brilliant method of reflection on what someone learn physically from those that have train in the art for many years.

While I cannot say this is a substitute for in person training, in which you learn the nuance and subtilise of martial arts, I still find it to be an incredibly valuable aid which I would recommend.

I searched for many years how to practice Bujinkan on my own. At first it was difficult for me to buy this course because I was not sure about how it was. But it very well done, Mark is very experienced and skilled in teaching. I’m very happy and grateful to follow this course. For me this is gold because it gives me all the tools I need to go further. All it takes is perseverance (Nin). Thank you for this course.

I have been training in Bujinkan for a long time but for a last few years I had no time to attend the dojo regularly due to work and lifestyle requirements. This online course is so handy for self training and research into Bujinkan Martial Arts. I believe that this is the only way to study safely in this day and age were pandemics are changing the way we live and train.

I had my doubts at first but after watching all of white belt to black belt set,I was able to do my first arm bar and a couple of sacrifice throws with no problem as if I had done them 1000 times before, training of course.Dont worry I didn’t go out and mess up the first person I ran across lol.A testimony about how well instructed this set really is,the movements are fluid and very natural. Thanks again Mr.roemke ,I have to say I’m a big fan of you and your work and a subscriber on YouTube.

Sensei Roemke is a super good instructor and just watching him move you can tell he knows his stuff. I am doing his live online zoom training and using the set to study on my own too. Been so good to have something to focus on during lockdowns and layoffs. Will be testing for my next rank soon and so exited for the next level of training.

It helps me with my training, knowledge, confidence and goal of becoming an instructor myself. Please disregard the negative reviews on here that have nothing to do with this product. I have been to the Bujinkan in Atalnta,Ga. and I will say with no hesitation That its people and Instructors were and are Authentic in every way.I have been in class with Bud Malmstrom, and many other Instructors.Though it has been along time since I have bowed in a class setting these training videos you see here are the real deal.If you can not make it to a Dojo that teaches this art-then THIS is the way to go and you will have earned every bit of time and money you put into it.Don’t take my word for it-find out for yourself. You will be glad you did!

This program has been tailored perfectly for anyone; brand new into martial arts, or decades of training; for learning Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu. There is nothing left for guess work. Dai Shihan Roemke gives you the tools to build the survival fighter mindset, and describes every movement to it’s smallest detail. 11/10 worth every penny, even if you don’t plan on ranking up. (Plus Roemke Sensei has a teaching style that shows he genuinely cares about the trade and about your experience in learning it)

Top quality instruction and a practical application of the techniques makes this worth every penny. I was only able to make it to my current Bujinkan Dojo once a week, due to my job. I started watching Sensei Roemke’s videos daily and have made a noticeable progression in class. I really enjoy his teaching method and will be a customer for many years to come. Very thankful to have found these videos.

It a great course and the testing couldnt be easier really although I made it difficult because I not tech saavy with a cell phone and it camera features. Then I had to learn how to upload the videos to a google drive folder. This was the most challenging piece to me and of course I was not really sure how to go about it the process but all I had was the paper showing 9th kyu material and the video demonstrating what I had to do. The material was the easy part, I have previous martial art training background to aid me, but organizing it for demonstration purposes I was unsure of but I took on the challenge and passed. Now I preparing for my fourth test and I find myself doing 20 or 30 takes before I get a video I either happy with or so frusterated trying I say %$$## it and I just send it in and see what happens. Once the camera rolls everything you was doing great with fall a part. Expect it. Since I never seen a online test and my only reference is that what I seen live and done myself in dojo I had to use that as a model to follow. The path of testing and training will be to develope yourself in areas not just in martial art skill but how to over come the challenge of learning skills to pull it off which involves out of the box thinking. Ninjitsu is about thinking outside the box and being creative. All objects can be used as a training aid and for demonstrative purposes and as I learn new material I keep thinking how is the best way to demonstrate this technique? Is it with a person or a grappling dummy? My wife and kids not going to allow me to do this technique on them so what can I do with a 4×4 post, some pvc pipe and duct tape, rope, flower pot, etc. . I have a jacket hanging up in the closet, maybe I can do something with that to demonstrate an arm lock? This is the challenege of online training and testing but I will say it been a great journey in personal development because now my mind is in the constant mode of looking at objects and asking what can I do with this and how many ways can I use it for ways it wasnt intended for like a stack of business cards, a door, door knobs, etc. Can I use it in self defense or gardening or fitness or a training aid. This is an art that goes way beyond striking and grappling. How can I find ways to use an object or skill to maybe escape a tragic situation or survive the wilderness. Just remember this course was designed to be done with a partner or solo. Solo training is not easy but over 90 percent of ones training to achieve skill development is done by solo training. Athletes solo train majority of the time so why shouldnt we?
As one blessed with Autistic skills, I find this course beneficial in so many ways and frusterating.
Training ninjitsu was something I wanted to do back when I was 14 ( I 56 now) . It my fantasy come true. I have earned two black belts ( taekwondo and krav maga) , trained in shotokan and arnis/escrima and some BJJ. My inspiration was Stephen Hayes who trained and wrote books with Master Hatsumi. It was all the training one could get unless you was in japan or attended a work shop by Hayes. No youtube, google or videos back in those days. Now I can take classes and study via video and online training by another student of Master Hatsumi in Mark Roemke. Plus earn rank . Times have really changed .

I took a year of ninjutsu when I was a kid and the Kyu in this system are full of techniques that make more sense in the order that they’re presented. Sensei Roemke goes into good detail, along with the pdf makes it easy to start the techniques, so one can then improve on their abilities. Thank you all involved in the production and thank you Soke Masaaki Hatsumi.

I was an aikido uchideshi for 1.5yrs where i also studied BJJ and muay thai. Additionally, i have studied iaido by video tutorial. This course is innovative as it is credible and well thought out. A STUDENT BY VIDEO COURSE, TRAINING ANYWHERE WORLDWIDE, CAN OBTAIN THEIR 1ST DEGREE BLACKBELT CERTIFIED BY HONBU! I am so all about this and am going fullthrottle! You have created a monster, Mark senseiĶ(insert Tiger Mudra, bow)

I think the video is a phenomenal start to my journey. If I had to make any suggestions, it would be primarily with the stances. Maybe a slight bit more information on their application and the when and why I might choose one stance vs another. I’ve done some google searches and found that some are defensive, while others are offensive, etc. It would be nice to have a slight amount more detail about them in the video.

It was a good film but you should have included more techniques and a little less repetition of the techniques. It should have been with kuji kiri or kuji in. execution. It is included with history of art of taijutsu

Great training video and instructions. The content is easy to understand and follow along too. You really don’t need to be in a dojo to learn the technical information. Sooner or later though once you get to Shodan you would probably want to get some real life training in at a dojo or with a partner to reinforce the learning and get some muscle memory until it starts to feel natural without putting any thought into the moves/maneuvers.
